George Leslie Oakley, Jr., 79, of Lea Meadow Rd., Welcome, Passed away Wednesday April 13 , at his home. His graveside service will be on Sunday April 17th at 4:00 p.m. at Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends and family at Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Rd, Saturday April 16th from 6:00 -8:00p.m. George was born July 7th 1931, to George Leslie Oakley, Sr. and Alice MacNeely Oakley. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Phyllis Oakley and Louise Clodfelter. He is survived by his wife Nancy C. Oakley of the home and three children, Teresa Oakley, Jeffrey Oakley, Jonathan Oakley, long time family friend B. R. Woosley and a niece Kim Gardner. George was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps.
