George “Buddy” Adam Roach Jr. age 68, of Burkhart Road, Lexington, a beloved father, grandfather, brother and friend went home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 18, 2011. He passed away peacefully in his home located on Burkhart Road after several years of declining health.
A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday at Maranatha Baptist Tabernacle located on Jersey Church Road with Rev. Thomas Todd officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the home on Burkhart Rd.
Mr. Roach was born May 17, 1943 in Davidson County, to George Adam Roach Sr. and Myrtle Tysinger Roach. Buddy came from a large family of brothers and sisters all surrounded by love.
He was a former employee of Foster Tire. Preceding in death was his lovely wife, Mary Pearl Winebarger Roach, and a sister, Betty Jo Roach.
Surviving are two sons for which he was so proud of and loved very much, Martin “Marty” Roach and wife, Judy, Darren Roach and wife, Lori, both of Lexington. His beautiful grandchildren, Wendy Tolley and husband, Billy of Kernersville, Nathan Burleson of Salisbury, Misty Roach, Adam Roach, Morgan Roach all of Lexington; great-grandchildren include Alisha and Timothy Tolley and Bentley Roach; brothers, Larry Roach, Luke Roach both of Lexington, David Roach and wife, Linda of Grand Junction, Colorado, sisters, Hazel Cox of Liberty, Barbara Donese “Sissy” Tate, Tryphena Byerly and husband, Bennie, Ginger Leonard and husband, Ed, and Anna “Ann” Laws and husband, Jackie all of Lexington
The family would like to personally thank Buddy’s long time physician and friend, Dr. Randy Long and all the staff at his office. To Buddy, Dr. Long was more than his doctor, but a friend and pal. Thank you dearly for all that you have done for him.
