George Chadwell "Chad" Simerson

George Chadwell “Chad” Simerson, 78, of S. NC Highway 150, died Thursday, July 02, 2009, at Rowan Regional Medical Center, following several years of declining health. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday, July 4, 2009, at Lakeview Baptist Church, where he was a member, with the Revs. Buster Pigg and Roger Mills officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Simerson was born April 30, 1931, in Davidson County, to Burrel Simerson and Bessie Parnell Simerson. He was a retired mechanic at Billings Freight. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by sons, Rickey Lane Simerson and Randy Joe Simerson. Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth Young Simerson of the home; son, Gary Simerson and wife, Angie, of Linwood; five grandchildren, Wayne Simerson, Shaylyn Floyd, Erica Nicole Smith, Matthew Simerson, and Adam Simerson. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 3, 2009, at Davidson Funeral Home.
