George Hamilton Simmons

George Simmons, 60, of Tyro School Road, died Saturday, June 22, 2019 at Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington.   A memorial service will be held at 6 pm Thursday, June 27, 2019 at the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by Rick Freeborn.   The family will receive friends for 5 to 6 pm prior to the service.   George was born November 12, 1958 in Caldwell County to Von Hamilton and Nola Mae Hall Simmons. He was self-employed construction worker for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Bill Simmons, all formerly of Lenoir.   Surviving are his brothers, Joseph Simmons (Wanda) of Lexington and Jim Simmons (Linda) and his sister, Sheryl Broyhill (Gary) of Lenoir.   In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hinkle Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292.
