George Edwin Warfford

George Edwin Warfford, 86, of Linwood-Southmont Road, died Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2007, at Lexington Memorial Hospital. The funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Stoner's Grove Baptist Church by the Revs. Billy Pearson, Bill Hicks and R.N. Hardin. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Mr. Warfford was born June 3, 1920, in Davidson County to Everette Harris Warfford and Mary Lou Wofford Warfford. He retired from Duracell in Lexington and was a member of the Southmont Fire Department. He was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle Owen Warfford, who died March 4, 2005; two brothers, Herbert Warfford and Everette Wofford; and two sisters, Annie Mae Fine and Sallie Lee Fine. Surviving are two sons, Clarence Warfford and his wife, Linda, and Ronald Warfford and his wife, Elaine, all of Lexington; one daughter, Janice Tysinger of Lexington; two grandchildren, Beverly Berrier and her husband, Tim, and Amy Briggs and her husband, Scott, all of Lexington; four great-grandchildren, Brent Berrier, Clay Berrier, Caleb Briggs and Leigha Briggs; and one brother, Arthur Warfford of Lexington. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Stoner's Grove Baptist Church, P.O.
