George Lewis White

Mr. George Lewis White, 89, of Barboursville, West Virginia, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2025 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Huntington. He was born on August 16, 1935, to the late George Preston and Sadie Ruthe White.

George was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 46 years, Freda Lorraine White, and his two brothers, Richard G. White (Elsie) and Carroll J. White.

He is survived by his devoted daughters, Deborah Underwood (Howard), and Bonnie Adkins both of Barboursville, West Virginia; He was a proud grandfather to Jennifer Speich (Eric), Jonathan Duncan, Juliet Duncan, and Sherry Burger, and a cherished great-grandfather to Harper Speich, Kendall Speich, Elizabeth Burger, and Emily Burger.

George honorably served his country in the United States Air Force and carried that spirit of dedication and resilience throughout his life. He was a devoted family man, a steady presence, and a friend to many. His quiet strength, love for his family, and unwavering character left a lasting legacy that will not be forgotten.

A service to celebrate George’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at Parklawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Dr. Don Clement will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Animal Care Foundation 11141 Old U.S. Hwy 52 #3, Winston-Salem, NC 27107; or a local no-kill animal foundation.

George will be remembered with love and deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
