Georgia Sue Ballew

Georgia Sue Walser Ballew, 70, of Lexington, passed away Monday, January 31, 2022, peacefully in her sleep.

A memorial service will be held 7 pm Wednesday, February 9, 2022, at Tyro United Methodist Church.

The family will receive friends and family from 6 to 7 pm prior to the service.

Georgia was born January 2, 1952, in Davidson County to George Oscar Walser Jr. and Angeline Barnes Walser. She was a member of Tyro United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, Georgia was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Paige and Carolyn Weaver.

Surviving is her son, Jamey Ballew (Mande) of Lexington; daughter, Melissa Ballew of Portland, Oregon (Bre); one brother, Doug Walser Sr.; one sister, Jan Bryan (Doug); three grandchildren, Joseph Ballew, Emma Mowbray (Jake), and Michael Ballew (Korrie); and four great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Katherine, Kalvin, and Bexley, and former husband, Allen.

Georgia never met a stranger and loved to laugh.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Cancer Services of Davidson County or donate blood to the American Red Cross in her memory.
