Georgia Shoaf Sidden

Georgia Lovell Shoaf Sidden, 85, of Old Mill Farm Road passed away Saturday, October 18, 2008 at her home.    A funeral service will be held at 4:00 pm on Wednesday at Friendship United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bobby Swaim officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.   Mrs. Sidden was born on May 31, 1923 in Davidson County to Robert Shoaf and Daisy Essick Shoaf.  She was a member of Friendship United Methodist Church, the Ladies Bible Class  and retired from Manhattan Shirt Factory.  She was preceded in death by her husband William Roy (Jack) Sidden who died in 1986; great-grandson J.W. Sidden; brothers Early Shoaf and Bradley Shoaf; sisters Leona Sidden, Jeanette Shoaf and Wanda Woosley.   Surviving are her son Donald Sidden of Lexington; grandson Tim Sidden and wife Debbie; granddaughter Amanda Parris and husband Michael; greatgrandchildren Rocky Sidden and Luke Parris; brothers J.D. Shoaf and Guy Shoaf and wife Mary;  friends Kylar Young and Amy Young; special care-givers Marjorie Smoot and Berldine Thomas and friends who visited and delivered meals to her home.   The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 pm Tuesday at Davidson Funeral Home Lexington Chapel and other times at the home.   Memorials may be directed to Friendship United Methodist Church, 2840 Friendship Church Road, Lexington, NC 27295 or to Davidson County Senior Services Meals Program, 106 Alma Owens Drive, Lexington, NC 27292.   Online condolences may be made at www.davidsonfuneralhome.net
