Our loving Gerald Dewayne Booth Sr., 53 of Hudson Road, went home to be with the Lord, Friday in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
There will be a graveside service held 4:00 pm Thursday at Canaan United Methodist Church Cemetery with Minister DeNeshia Hines officiating.
Dewayne was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Mr. Booth was born September 1, 1954 in Wabash, Indiana to Eugene Booth and Lucile Mullins Booth. He was a member of Canaan United Methodist Church and had been attending Oak Forest United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by a two sons Jessie Allen Booth, and K.C. Bennett.
Surviving are his loving wife of 27 years Debra Booth of the home; a son Gerald Dewayne Booth Jr. and wife Melissa of Kokomo, IN; a daughter Melissa Booth of the home; three beautiful granddaughters, Ava Maelynn Booth, Destiny Booth, and Emily Booth; and a niece Christina Milligan. Dewayne loved children and helped raise 16 of them, which included three girls that he loved as his own, Jessica Robbins, Samantha Robbins, and Michaela Boché.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Wednesday at Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel and at other times at the home.
