Gerald (Jerry) Vernon Rettan

Gerald (Jerry) Vernon Rettan, age 71 of Woodhaven Drive, Lexington passed away Monday afternoon (Jan. 2, 2012) at Wake Forest Baptist Health. There will be no public service.   The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington on Wednesday afternoon (Jan. 4, 2012) from 3:00 until 4:00 pm Wednesday.   Jerry was born in Dubuque County, Iowa February 16, 1940 to William Vernon Rettan and Dorothy Sweiter Rettan. He was of the Methodist Faith.  He was employed with Duracell for 48 years as a Manufacturing Engineer. He was a member and Past Master of Lexington Masonic Lodge #473, a Mason, Shriner and member of the Oasis Shrine Temple in Charlotte. He was preceded in death by his parents.   Surviving are; his wife, Jane Boyd Rettan of the home; his daughter, Julie Jackson and husband Dan of Teachey, NC; his grandsons, Dustin Jackson and wife Holli, Camron Jackson and wife Shannon; three great-grandchildren, Rebecca, Luke and Makenzie Jackson.   In lieu of flowers, memorials should be directed to The Shriner’s Hospital for Crippled and Burned Children, 604 Doug Mayes Place, Charlotte, NC  28262     Online condolences may be made at www.davidsonfuneralhome.net
