Mr. Gerald Lynn King, 76, of Confederate St., died Tuesday, October 6, 2026, surrounded by loved ones.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 10, at Greater Vision Freewill Baptist Church, 208 Arrington Drive, Lexington, with Preacher Doug McGee officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service in the church.
He was born on January 20, 1950, in Danville, VA, to the late David Wilbur and Thelma Estelle Yates King.
Mr. King was a retired truck driver and an avid musician. For more than 60 years, Gerald shared his love of music with those around him. Music was more than a talent—it was a lifelong passion and an important part of who he was.
Gerald was also a proud member of the Asheboro AmVets Post 905, where he valued the fellowship and remained committed to supporting veterans.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, James Keith Fero.
Survivors include his children, Crystal Fero, Christopher King (Tammy), and Alex G. West, all of Lexington; grandchildren, Alisha Nighswonger (Matthew), Brandon Fero (Kayla), Collin Fero, Jeffery King (Cara), and Jeremy King; three great-grandchildren, Lillian, Jameson, and Hudson; siblings, Judy Taylor, Rev. David King, and Patricia Mullins; and several nieces and nephews.
