Geraldine Beck

Geraldine Russell Beck, 86, of Marvin Hedrick Road and formerly of Beck’s Church Road, died Saturday evening at her home. A celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 am today at Beck’s Lutheran Church where she was a member. Rev. David Martin will conduct the service. Mrs. Beck was born May 17, 1922 in the Montgomery County community of Blaine, to Madison J. Russell and Hattie Clodfelter Russell. She worked for several years at Kathy Lane Nursery and Kindergarten in Lexington. She was preceded in death by her husband Elmer Beck who died in 1978. She was also preceded in death by two brothers Joel Russell and Hubert Russell; and a sister Radie Tucker. Surviving are; her daughter Pat Yarbrough and husband Jack of Lexington; a grandson Kevin Yarbrough of Lexington, a granddaughter Madara Shillinglaw and husband Jeremy of Thomasville; a great-grandson Matthew William Shillinglaw; two grand-dogs Mollie Jane and Maggie; and two special friends Karen Allred and Angie Ward. The family will receive friends at the home on Marvin Hedrick Road. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to; The life Center of Davidson County, 601 West Center Street, Lexington, NC 27292, or to Hospice of Davidson Count, PO Box 1941, Lexington, NC 27293. The family would like to give a special thanks to the Life Center of Davidson County for making the last six months of Mrs. Beck’s life so enjoyable. The family would also like to thank Hospice of Davidson County for making Mrs. Beck comfortable during the last days of her life. Davidson Funeral Home is serving the family.
