Geraldine Holmes

Geraldine Warfford Holmes, 94 of NC Hwy 8, Lexington died Tuesday, December 14, 2010 in Alston Brook Nursing Home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Friday, December 17, 2010 at Stoner’s Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Billy Pearson, Dr. Bill Hicks officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. Mrs. Holmes was born November 10, 1916 in Davidson County to Henry Warfford and Leora Owen Warfford. She was a retired Lab Technician with Burlington Mills. A member of Stoner’s Grove Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Friendship Sunday School Class and the WMU at the church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dermont Montgomery Holmes, two brothers, Henry Hollis Warfford and Fred Warfford. Surviving are a brother, John Warfford and wife, Lillian of Lexington, sister-in-law, Roxie Warfford of Lexington and several nieces. Memorials may be directed to Stoner’s Grove Baptist Church, P.O.
