Geraldine Elizabeth Ketner

Geraldine Swicegood Ketner, age 96, peacefully passed away on December 4, 2023, at Hinkle Hospice House.  She was born on June 22, 1927, to Willie Bane and Ella Walser Swicegood in Davidson County, North Carolina, a proud graduate of Reeds High School in 1944, she held the honor of being the last surviving member of her graduating class.

A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Paul's Chapel Reformed Church, preceded by a visitation from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. The Reverend Aaron Long will be officiating the service.

Geraldine was preceded in death by her loving parents, her husband John Allen Ketner, her daughter, Luella Jean Ketner, and all of her siblings; Arlie (Margaret) Swicegood, Paul (Alma) Swicegood, Vilas (Ruth & Shirley) Swicegood, IV (Cleo) Swicegood, Eula (Jesse) Weaver, Louise (Harold) Lanning, Dot (Weldon) Koonts, Naomi (Grady) Leonard, and Joretta Davis.

She is survived by daughter, Llamel Craig and two granddaughters Caroline Craig (Zach) and Taryn Craig (Maddox), son in-law Jerry Mullis, brother in-law Bob Davis, and a host of nieces and nephews. Geraldine's legacy lives on through the lives she touched and the memories she created with her family and friends.
