Gertrude Foust Mayhew

Gertrude Foust Mayhew, age 89 of Piedmont Crossing formerly of Young Road, Lexington passed away Friday morning (Jan. 30, 2015) at Piedmont Crossing. Funeral service will be held 11:00 am Monday (February 2, 2015) at Memorial United Church of Christ with Rev. Jamie Kent officiating. Burial will follow in the church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 6:00 pm Sunday at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington. Gertrude was born in Davidson County, June 27, 1925 to Cicero Thomas and Nettie Beck Foust. She was a former employee of Edgewood Apparel and a member of Memorial United Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Norman Mayhew in 1989 and her brothers, Howard, Foy, Victor and Hoyle Foust. Surviving are her sons, Roger Mayhew (Susann) of Winston Salem, Terry Mayhew (Ann) of High Point, Michael Mayhew (Sara) of Boone and Bobby Mayhew (Lesia) of Lexington; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
