Gilbert Underwood

Gilbert Grant Underwood Jr. 69, of Linwood Southmont Road, Lexington, died Friday, August 13, 2010 at his home. A graveside service will be held 11:00 am Monday at Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the mausoleum. Mr. Underwood was born April 29, 1941 in Cleveland County Tenn., to Gilbert Grant Underwood Sr. and Mamie Lindsay Underwood. He was employed as a truck driver for 25 years, and later retired from Fairview Village. Surviving are his wife Mary Coble Underwood of the home, two sons; Robert Kivett and wife Jody of Lexington and Jeffrey Kivett of Virginia, two daughters; Debbie Solberg and husband Chris of South Carolina and Robin Work and husband Jeffrey of King, NC, one sister; Dorothy Lefon of Virginia, 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
