Gilmer “Pete” Everhert, 63, of Sunnyside Drive, died Thursday, February 16, at Forsyth Medical Center following a two month illness. A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 22, 2017, at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Bud Powell officiating. Burial will follow. The family will receive friends following the service in the church. Mr. Everhart was born July 5, 1953, in Davidson County, to Amos Gilmer Everhart and Helen Geneva Everhart Everhart. He was a member of Galilee Missionary Baptist Church and worked for Leggett and Platt Bed Rail in the Maintenance department. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, Bobby Ray Everhart and Mary Lou. Surviving are his loving wife Cathy Moody Everhart of the home; daughters, Hope Michelle Martin and Tammy Leann Haga and husband Chris, all of Lexington; five grandchildren; brother, Robert Everhart and wife Kristy of Southmont; sisters, Mary Lambeth of Lexington, Helen Stuart, Doris Hall, both of Southmont, and Sarah Varnam and JK of South Port Beach.
