Gilmer Ross Lanier

Gilmer Ross Lanier, 58, of Koontz Road, died Sunday, May 27, 2012, at his home after five years of declining health. The family will receive friends at the home on Koontz Road from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 30, 2012. There will be no other services. Mr. Lanier was born September 9, 1953, in Davidson County, to L. Gilmer Lanier and Alyce Haynes Lanier. He was an honor graduate of Hillsborough Community College in Florida and also attended Florida State University. Mr. Lanier was an employee of Thomasville Furniture Industries. He was preceded in death by his father. Surviving in addition to his mother of the home are a sister, Jenni Lanier Marra of Lexington; two nephews, Anthony John Marra III and Christian Eric Marra, both of Tampa, Fl.; and several great nieces and nephews.
