Gladys Huffman Brinkley

Gladys Huffman Brinkley, 77, of Gandy Lane, died Friday, April 01, 2016, at Hinkle Hospice House. The funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday, April 4, 2016, at Freedom Missionary Baptist Church, where she attended, with Preacher Clyde Akers officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 10 to 11 a.m. and other times at the home of her sister on Cloverdale Road. Mrs. Brinkley was born June 26, 1938, in Cabarrus County, to James Huffman and Annie Ruth Holloway Huffman. She worked at Burlington Industries as a spinning room instructor prior to her retirement. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a grandson, Sean-Luc. Surviving are sons, Ralph Lee Brinkley Jr. and wife Saprina of Lexington and Rickey Brinkley and wife Wendy of Benson; daughter, Laura Lilly and husband Scott of Mt. Holly; grandchildren, Aleigha, Layla, Saprina, Ralph, Jacineth, Elizabeth, Gerald, Taylor, Evan, Ethan, Ryley, Haley, Morgan, and Nathan; brothers, Larry Wayne Huffman and wife Rita of Tyro, Tommy Huffman and wife Jan of Booneville and JR Huffman of Lexington; and sister, Barbara Sue Norman and husband Curtis of Lexington.
