Gladys Kennedy

Gladys Hines Kennedy, 85, of Riverwood Drive, died Monday, July 10, 2006, at her home. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Macedonia United Methodist Church, where she was a member, by the Rev. Burt Williams. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Kennedy was born Feb. 5, 1921, in Guilford County to Essie Hines Williams. She was a homemaker and a member of the Macedonia Retirees Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lacy Kennedy, who died in 1983. Surviving are two daughters, Bonnie Price and her husband, Jim, and Shirley McBride and her husband, James, both of Lexington; two grandchildren, Michael Gillespie and his wife, Cathy, and Lacie Davis and her husband, Dennis; and two great-grandchildren, Michaela Gillespie and Nicholas Gillespie. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, and other times at the home of a daughter, Bonnie Price, 412 Riverwood Drive.
