Gladys Velnor Foust Norman, 88, a resident of Lake Drive 10, passed away Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at Hinkle Hospice Home in Lexington. She was born in Guilford County on May 17, 1933 to the late Grady and Ida Cowan Foust. Gladys retired from Guilford County Emergency Services where she was a Police Dispatcher for many years. She loved living on the lake and fully embraced the “Lake Life.” She enjoyed shopping and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Gladys was a member of Central Baptist Church in Lexington. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Norman; brothers, Gilmer Cowan and Robert Foust; a sister, Pearl Denning; and a niece, Darlene “Dolly.”
A memorial service will be held Saturday January 29, 2022 at 2:00 PM, visitation from 1-2 at Central Baptist Church; 1347 NC Hwy 47, Lexington, NC. Pastor Jeff Perdue will be officiating.
Gladys is survived by her children, Timothy Norman, of the home and Cynthia Kearns of Lexington; grandchildren, Timothy Kearns (Elizabeth) and Meghan Norman Moose (Travis); great-grandchildren, Finnley Kearns, and Bailey and Logan Moose; nieces, Carol and Janice; nephews, Bill, Charles, Vic, and Kevin; a sister-in-law, Paige; and her four-legged best friend, Lilly.
