Gladys Kathleen Benoy Prevette

Gladys Kathleen Benoy Prevette, 104, of Piney Grove Nursing Home of Kernersville, formerly of Lexington, died Monday, September 01, 2014, at the nursing home. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday, September 4, 2014, at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Doug McGee and Preacher Clyde Akers officiating. Burial will follow in Arrington Heights Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, September 3, 2014, and other times at the home of her son, Lawrence, on John Lookabill Road. Mrs. Prevette was born November 12, 1909, in Cumberland County, to Lawrence Benoy and Rebecca Smith Benoy. She was retired from Erlanger Mills where she had worked as a spinner. Mrs. Prevette attended Arrington Heights FWB Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John Vestal Prevette; and brothers, Daniel Benoy, Sam Benoy and Blease Benoy. Surviving are sons, Lawrence Prevette and wife Ann of Lexington, and Ronnie Prevette of Kernersville; daughter, Brenda Payne and husband Gid of Lexington; grandchildren, Jennifer Frye and husband Maloy, Mark Prevette and wife Deanna, Ricky Payne and wife Candy, Timmy Payne and wife, Catherine, Terry Payne, Amanda Rhodes and husband Scotty, and Brandon Payne and wife Danielle; 11 great-grandchildren; and brother, Virgil Benoy of Lexington.
