Gladys Trexler

Gladys A. Trexler, 89, of Alston Brook Nursing Home, formerly of Walnut Grove Road, died Friday, March 23, 2007, at the nursing home. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, by the Rev. Lamar Moore. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. Mrs. Trexler was born May 26, 1917, in Rowan County to William Victor Almon and Etta Jane Mills Almon. She was a retired employee of Dacotah and Erlanger mills and a member of Center Hill Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Francis Marcus Trexler, and six siblings. Surviving are her husband, Marcus Adam Trexler of Alston Brook Nursing Home; two daughters, Lois Faye Potts and her husband, Jake, and Doris Jean Young and her husband, Robbie, all of Lexington; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home and other times at Alston Brook Nursing Center. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Davidson County, P.O.
