Gladys White

Gladys Lee Leonard White, age 81, of Welcome, died Friday (June 25, 2010) in Thomasville Medical Center after a sudden illness. Funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday in the Davidson Funeral Home Lexington Chapel. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home from 1:00 until 2:00 pm prior to the service and at other times at the home of Pat Richardson, 142 Charleswood Lane, Lexington. Mrs. White was born April 21, 1929 in Davidson County to Fred Leonard and Berta Sykes Leonard. She was a former employee of Wennonah Cotton Mills with 27 years of service. She was a member of Second United Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Wilbur (J.W.) White and a daughter Sharon Lynn White, January 23, 2010. Surviving are; one daughter, Pat Richardson and David Drake of Lexington; two sons, James White of Welcome and Keith White and wife Tracy of Reeds; three grandchildren, Devin and Logan Richardson and Hunter White; one brother, Jerry Leonard of Shallotte.
