Glen Roscoe Shoaf

October 18, 1928 — February 3, 2018

Glen Roscoe Shoaf, 89, of Conard Sowers Road, died Saturday February 3, 2018 at his home.   A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Monday at Bethesda United Methodist Church, where he was a member, by the Revs. Danny Miller and Darren Everhart.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military graveside rites.   The family will receive friends 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm in the Family Life Center and other times at the home.   Mr. Shoaf was born October 18, 1928 in Davidson County to Sidney Lee Shoaf and Marcia Poole Shoaf. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, where he served in World War II and the Korean Conflict. Glen was retired from Bahnson Company with 44 years of service. In 1986, Glen was integral in helping establish DNB Humidifier, Inc. He was also a member of Methodist Men at his church.  He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Grady Shoaf, and four sisters, Annie Meadows, Gertie Mize, Lucille Yountz, and Daisy Parks.   Surviving are his wife of 68 years, Freda Essick Shoaf of the home; his son, David Shoaf and wife, Barbara, of Lexington; his daughter, Myra Spach and husband, Mick, of Collierville Tennessee; his grandchildren, Patrick Spach and wife, Abigail, of Wilmington, and Leslie Shoaf of Lexington; his great-grandson, Cooper Glen Spach; his step grandson, Anthony Chavis Sr. and wife, Lilia, of Lexington, and two step great-grandchildren, Anthony Jr. and Yasmeen Chavis.    In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Bethesda United Methodist Church, 2922 Bethesda Road, Lexington, NC 27295 or Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292.   The family would like to thank Hospice of Davidson County and caretaker, Beth Keaton for their support and care.
