Glenda Shumaker Pierce

Glenda Shumaker Pierce, 77, of West Center Street Ext., died June 11, 2016 at Pruitt Health in High Point after four years of declining health. The funeral will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 15, at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Brady Lowery. Burial will follow in the Lexington City Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home and other times at the home. Mrs. Pierce was born May 17, 1939 in Mooresville, to James Richard Milner Sr. and Wilma Chamberlain Milner. She retired as owner and operator of Glenda Shumaker Pierce Realty and was a member of Charity Baptist Church. She was a loving wife and mother. Her grandchildren were the love of her life and her pride and joy. Her son, Randy Shumaker and her brother, Richard Milner Jr, preceded her in death. Surviving are her husband, Charles “Chuck” Pierce; her son, Tony Shumaker and wife Tammy of Midway; daughter, Wendy Newman and husband Joey of Lexington;her daughter in law; Kelly Shumaker of Welcome; her step daughter, Shannon Brewer and husband Tony of Winston Salem; eight grandchildren, Justin Shumaker and wife Anne- Marie, Jessica Long and husband Aaron, Caleb Shumaker and wife Darcey, Cody Newman, Cole Newman, Lindsey Shumaker, Cassidy Newman and Taylor Brewer; her great-grandchildren, Stetson and Tinslee Long; and her sister, Judy Forrest of Lexington; brother, Terry Milner and wife Becky of Lexington. Memorials may be made to Charity Baptist Church 1912 NC Hwy 150, Lexington, NC 27295 or to the Donor’s Choice.
