Glenda Jean Self, a beloved mother, sister, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 23, 2025. A resident of High Point N.C., formerly of Spartanburg, South Carolina, Glenda lived a life full of love, dedication, and warmth, touching the hearts of all who knew her.

Born on a Monday, March 13, 1961, Glenda graced this world with her presence, growing up with strong family values and a zest for life that she carried throughout the years. She was preceded in death by her loving father, Wilburn Howard, and a granddaughter Emma Marie Williams whose memories she cherished deeply.

Glenda was a devoted and loving mother to her daughter, Alanda Williams (Raymond) of Lexington, N.C. Her two grandchildren, Brantley and Maggie Williams, were the light of her life, bringing her great joy and good times. Her familial bonds extended into cherished sibling relationships with her brothers, William L. Howard (Beverly) of Greer, S.C., and Christopher D. Howard (Suzi) of Lyman, S.C., and her sisters, Brenda G. Simpson (Lowell) of Greer, S.C., and Pamela M. Hicks (Brian) of Greenville, S.C. She is also survived by her mother, Ruby Howard. Glenda's family was her world, and she always prioritized spending time with them.

A dedicated employee, Glenda worked at Beverage-Air for 26 years, where she was known for her work ethic and camaraderie with colleagues. Outside of work, she found solace and joy in gardening, creating beautiful spaces that reflected her vibrant spirit. She also had a passion for traveling, embracing new experiences and cultures with enthusiasm.

Glenda's life will be celebrated on April 19th, 2025, at 3:00 PM, at Oak Grove Baptist Church 826 Oak Grove Road, Landrum, South Carolina 29356, officiated by Reverend Lynn Stewart.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude for the support and love received during this time, with a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Hinkle Hospice House for their dedication and care during this time.

The family request that memorials be made to Hinkle Hospice House 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292.
