Glenn Franklin Everhart

November 22, 1929 — August 16, 2024

Glenn Franklin Everhart, 94, of Davidson County, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 16, 2024, at his home.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at 11:00 AM, at Mt. Tabor United Church of Christ, with Rev. Alex Nance officiating.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at the church prior to the service.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Glenn was born on November 22, 1929, in Davidson County, to the late John Glenn Everhart and Nellie Whitlock Everhart. Upon graduating high school, he enlisted in the Navy and proudly served his country from 1952 – 1956. Once out of the Navy, Glenn worked as diesel mechanic for Cummins Diesel for 37 years and continued serving his community by working with the Holly Grove Fire Department for 30 years.

Glenn was an active member of Mt. Tabor UCC and served as Sunday School Treasurer and Teacher for 23 years. He was a past president of Central Davidson Athletic Boosters from 1980 – 1981, a lifetime member of Amvets Post 13, VFW Post 3074, and American Legion Post 8 where he served as Commander from 2000 – 2005.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 62 years, Willie “Vae” Jones Everhart; and brothers, Ted G. Everhart, Jimmy Everhart, Bobby Everhart, and Stephen Everhart; and sisters, Sarah Stogner, and Norene Surratt.

Left to carry on his legacy are his children, Timothy Glenn Everhart, Rita Everhart (Ricky), and Christine Neely, all of Lexington; grandchildren, Nathaniel Everhart (Danielle), Joshua Everhart (Emily), Will Everhart (Liz), Patrick Neely, Spencer Neely, and great grandchildren, Lily Everhart, Levi Everhart, Jayden Kotarsky, and Mary-Beth Kotarsky.
