Roy Glenn Norman age 91 of Hedrick Mill Road, Lexington passed away Friday, January 29, 2016 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, Lexington Medical Center.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at Bethany United Methodist Church with Revs. David Talbert and Benny Clodfelter officiating. The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Monday night and at other times at the home.
Glenn was born in Forsyth County April 19, 1924 to George Washington Norman and Agnes Holt Norman. He was retired from Burlington Industries, a farmer who was known as the watermelon man in Davidson County and beyond. He also was a sawmill operator and a member of Bethany United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Marie Myers and Betty Jean Forrest; brothers, Junior, Wayne and Jack Norman.
Surviving are his loving wife of 72 years, Marie Parks Norman of the home; daughter, Glenda Floyd and husband Bruce of Lexington; brothers, Fred Norman (Evelyn), E.D. Norman (Marie), Albert Norman (Ellen) all of Lexington and Jimbo Norman (Etta) of South Carolina; grandson, Donnie Bridgeman (Gail); step-grandchildren, Amy Everhart and Beth Davis (Luke); 3 great-grandchildren, Sara Everhart, Madelyn and Savannah Davis; and special friends the Gray family.
