December 19, 1930 — March 14, 2023
Glenn Eugene Rector, 92, of Meadowview Road, passed away Tuesday March 14, 2023 at Pine Ridge Nursing Home in Lexington.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Monday March 20, 2023 at the Davidson Funeral Chapel in Lexington with Pastor Avery Varnadore officiating services. Visitation one hour prior at 1:00. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park.
Mr. Rector was born December 19, 1930 in South Dakota to Joseph Elmer Rector and Florence Lillian Stevenson Rector. Glenn was a self-employed carpenter who loved building things and watching hummingbirds. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Cecil Rector, Benny Rector and Carl Rector; and one sister, Reva Debord.
Surviving is his wife, Sarah Jane Abernathy Rector of the home; one son, Chris Rector of Arcadia; two daughters, Katrina Minter of Welcome and Robin Davis of Winston-Salem; two step sons, David Murphy fo Welcome and Martin Murphy (Cindy) of Kansas City; one step daughter, Teresa Dunnivan (Gene) of Bolivia NC; two brothers, Willard Rector (Rose) of Sparta NC and Robert Rector (Kathy) of Lewisville NC; 12 grandchildren,19 great-grandchildren and 1 great great-grandchild.
Memorials may be made to Pine Ridge Center Nursing Home 279 Brian Center Drive, Lexington NC 27292.
