Gloria Dean Mofield Waddle, 87, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2026, at her residence, with her loving husband, Robert, by her side.
Gloria was born on May 30, 1938, in Kentucky to the late Marion Mofield and Fonnie Dick Mofield. She was a devoted and faithful Christian whose life reflected her deep love for her family, her faith, and her community. Gloria was a loving wife, a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and a cherished friend to many.
Gloria loved flowers and gardening. She also enjoyed sewing and traveling, creating lasting memories with those she loved. As a dedicated member of her church, Lexington Church of Christ, she built a strong and loving church family.
Gloria is survived by her beloved husband of 72 years, Robert J. Waddle; her son, Rick Waddle (Kelly); her daughter, Dianne Yokeley (Ronnie); her cherished grandsons, Trevor (Kristin) and Ty Yokeley; her adored great-grandsons, Corbin and Bryson Yokeley; and her two sisters, ToyLee Hall and Lydia Dye.
In addition to her parents, Gloria was preceded in death by her siblings: Doris Bailey, Jack Mofield, Arlene Vanhook, Tommy Mofield, and Patty Salyer.
A graveside service to honor Gloria’s life will be held on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at Forest Hill Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on the same day, prior to the graveside service, at Davidson Funeral Home of Lexington from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Luann Miller for her love, dedication, and care.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations and memorials be made in honor of Gloria to Wellcare Hospice of Advance, located on 146 Donach Way, Advance, NC 27006, in appreciation of the compassionate care and professionalism shown to her.
