Gobindra Persaud Hemlall, aka ‘Ramanand’ and 'Shat Time". Age 63, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 11, 2018 with his family by his side. He was the son of the late Hemlall Sookram (Daniel and H1234) and Sukhia Sookram (Bagrattie). A man with a heart of gold, he was kind and thoughtful. Gobindra is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Seomatti Hemlall (Ena); devoted father of Sabrina William and his son-in-law Ravindra William, Krishna Hemlall and daughter-in-law Sabrina Hemlall, Donna Hemlall; cherished grandpa of Adena and Nolan; dear brother of Dave from England, Chris and Vic from NY, Chato from Canada and Rena from Guyana. He was the son-in-law of the late Filda and Doris Appadoo. Brother-in-law of Jai Bandhoo, Savarti, Baby, Fazie, Silvee Dinnanauth, Boyee Appadoo, Silvereen Basdeo, Derick Appadoo, Rachael Kamal, David Appadoo and Ellen Bacchus. Uncle of Andrea, Davina, Diana, Dana, Jagdesh, Ven, Marcia, Mona, Fazir, Haseena and Tia. Gobindra worked for Guyana Sugar Co-operation for 29 years. During his career in Guysuco, he held several positions but his proudest career accomplishment was his position as an Agricultural Supervisor, a place where he explored his abilities, built strong interaction on infrastructure, particularly land drainage,irrigation/transportation and canals. Working for Guysuco was his finest career experience, he enjoyed the unpredictable. As he always say, “no two day is the same”. The challenge of new situations everyday and his love for the people is what made his career at Guysuco so rewarding. He migrated to the United States of America in 2002 with his family. After working for several companies he found the one that he was comfortable to retire with ‘Atrium’. His energy and initiative made him an exceptional employee. He acquired several awards for his dedication and expertise. He always strive for perfection in everything he did and will always be remembered as such.Gobindra passion for nature shows through his nicely manicured lawn. He perfectly accentuates his beautifully maintained garden and landscaping. He takes great pride in his home, his lawn and his vehicle. They are always in immaculate condition. He enjoyed his family and friends. His happiness was sharing his life experiences or just tell captivating old folk stories to his love ones.He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle who will be greatly missed and forever loved. Visitation will take place from 6pm - 8pm on Wednesday August 15th at Davidson FuneralHome, 301 North Main Street Lexington North Carolina. His body will then be flown to Queens New York for viewing from 6pm -9pn on Friday August 17th at Leo F. Kearns Funeral Home, 103-33 Lefferts Blvd South Richmond Hill NY 11419. As per Gobindra wishes, he will be cremated on Saturday August 18th at Fresh Pond Crematory, 61-40 Mount Olivet Crescent, Middle Village, NY 11379.
