Gorman "Mike" Lee Michael

Gorman "Mike" Lee Michael, 87, of Britthaven of Davidson and formerly of Pleasant Hill Road, died Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2006, at Thomasville Medical Center. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Ebenezer United Methodist Church, where he was a member, by the Revs. Karla Farabow and Roger Weiser. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. Mr. Michael was born June 22, 1919, in Davidson County to Richard Glenn Michael and Nena Koontz Michael. He was a veteran of the Army, serving during World War II, and was a self-employed building contractor. He was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Curtis Michael; his parents; three brothers and three sisters. Surviving are one son, Dale Michael and his wife, Kathy, of Lexington; one daughter, Lisa Michael Fisher and her husband, Bruce Fisher Jr., of Hampton, S.C.; four grandchildren, Michael Frank Fisher and Savannah Joyce Fisher, both of South Carolina, and Scottie Pennington and Patrick Michael, both of Lexington; and one sister, Treva Smith of Lexington. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 Friday at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington, and other times at the home of the sister on Sycamore Street.
