Grace Howell Christley

Grace Louise Howell Christley, 78, of Brian Center Nursing Center, formerly of Pennington Avenue, died Friday, July 20, 2007, at the nursing center. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, July 22, 2007 at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Clyde Akers officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. She was born July 29, 1928 in Forsyth County to Robert Clyde Howell and Mary Caudle Howell. She attended Faith Chapel and in her early years taught Sunday School at Coggins Memorial Baptist Church. Mrs. Christley, whom everyone loved, had a beautiful spirit and lived for the Lord. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Sylvester “Curly” Christley, who died July 16, 2001; a brother, Bob Howell; and a sister, Charlotte Howell Cox. Surviving are sons, Dennis Christley and wife, Brenda; Randy Christley and wife, Cindy; Jody Christley and wife, April, all of Lexington; daughters, Bonita Royall and husband, Randy; Shelley Robertson and husband, Jeff all of Lexington; a brother Jerry Howell and wife Jean of Lexington; a sister, Ann Byerly and husband Glen of Lexington; grandchildren, Jeremy Christley, Marissa Christley, Angel Queen and husband, Gene, Whitney Everhart and husband, Stephen, Anna Christley, Emily Neal and husband, Brandon, Elana Christley, Neil Christley, Charlie Royall, Tonya McCarson and husband, Joel and Brandon Robertson; and great grandchildren, Anna Grace McCarson, Meredith McCarson, Andrew Queen and Cameron Queen. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Saturday at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home of the granddaughter, 179 Grady Michael Drive, Lexington.
