Grace Byerly Hege

Elsie Grace Byerly Hege,  98,  passed away Tuesday, May 09, 2017 in Lexington.  A funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm Thursday, May 11, 2017  at Good Hope United Methodist Church with Rev. Joseph Fulk officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.   The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:30 pm in the church parlor just prior to the service.   Mrs. Hege was born August 12, 1918 in Davidson County to William Preston Byerly and Pearl Zimmerman Byerly. She was a homemaker and a member of Good Hope United Methodist Church.  Preceding her in death was her husband, Robert Jacob (RJ) Hege, Feb. 2000, a daughter, Jean Harris, a granddaughter-in-law, Carmella Hege, two brothers, Clarence Jackson Byerly, William Albert Byerly, and two sisters, Mary Freedle and Ethel Freedle.   Surviving is a son, William R. Hege (Brenda) of Lexington; two grandchildren, Jill Hege of Greensboro, Jeff Hege of Lexington; three sisters, Marie Hanes, Pauline Everhart, Ruby Freedle all of Lexington and several nieces and nephews.   Memorials may be directed to the Donor’s choice.
