Grace Varner

Grace Varner, age 72 of Sink Farm Road, Lexington passed away Thursday morning, May 12, 2016 at Hinkle Hospice House. Funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, May 14, 2016 in the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Greene officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:30 until 2:00 pm, prior to the service. Grace was born in Guilford County, July 10, 1943 to Wade Lee Varner, Sr. and Willie Grace Garrison Varner. She was a retired waitress and a member of Higher Ground Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Bryan Sheppard; sisters, Annie Mae Brooks, Phyllis Varner and Mary Thomason and a brother, Freddy Varner. Surviving are her daughter, Renee Sheppard of Lexington; son, Christopher Shinn (Sasha Armstrong) grandchildren, Christopher Shinn, Jr. and Caryce Monastero Shinn; sisters,Judy Robinson (Jeff) of Greensboro and Shirley LaPenn (Paul) of Parkersburg, W.VA; brothers, Willie (Bill) Varner, Wade Varner (Gail), Bobby Varner (Linda), Johnny Varner (Judy) and Roger Varner (Bonnie) all of Lexington.
