Evelyn Grace Myers Butler, 87, of Myers Park Drive, died Sunday, October 5, 2008, at Brian Center of Lexington.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 8, 2008, at Second Reformed United Church of Christ, where she was a member, by the Rev. Dr. Joe D. Coltrane and Rev. Billy Joe Leonard. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park.
Mrs. Butler was born November 7, 1920, in Davidson County, to Lee Myers and Lillian Develle Gibson Myers. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and was a volunteer with Meals on Wheels. Mrs. Butler was a Sunday school teacher at her church and helped with the small children at the church. She was preceded in death by brothers, Taylor Myers, Harold Myers, Victor Myers, Clifford Myers and Donald Myers; and a sister, Rachel Myers Taylor. She was married to Grady Allen Butler, who survives of the home.
Also surviving are a sons, Johnny Butler and wife, Clara, of Lexington, Michael Butler and wife, Suki, of Athens, Ga., and Ken Butler and wife, Ruth Ann, of Duluth, Ga.; six grandchildren; two brothers, Roland Myers and wife, Lala, of Clover, SC and Carey Myers and wife, Shelba, of Tupelo, MS.; and two sisters, Doris Myers of Lexington and Carolyn Myers McClannan and husband, Roy, of Mocksville.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Davidson Funeral Home.
