Grady Ray Anderson

April 25, 1930 — January 11, 2017

Grady Ray Anderson Sr., 86, of Payne Street, died Wednesday, January 11, 2017, at Wake Forest Baptist Health – Lexington Medical Center.   A Catholic Mass will be 2 p.m. Monday, January 16, 2017, at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church with Fathers Ambrose Akinwande and AJ Galant officiating. The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday.   Mr. Anderson was born April 25, 1930, in Guilford County, to Milton McGuire Anderson and Maude Lee Young Anderson. He was a graduate of High Point High School and North Carolina State University earning a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Mr. Anderson served in the U.S. Army and was retired from PPG Industries. At his church he was a member of the Knights of Columbus. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, James Richard Anderson.   Surviving are his loving wife, Rebecca Lynn Sechrest Anderson of the home; sons, Grady Ray Anderson Jr. and his betrothed Shirley Ann Robinson and Donald Anderson and wife Windy, all of Lexington; daughters, Teresa Anderson Leonard and husband Benjamin of Apex, Anna Marie Anderson Day and husband Robert of Snodland Kent, England, and Sharon Elizabeth Anderson Myers and husband Dylan of Lexington; seven grandchildren, Michael Leonard and wife Rachal, Christopher Leonard, Eric Leonard, Celeste Anderson, Sarah Anderson Edwards and husband Andrew, Noah Myers, and Natalie Myers; four great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Daphine Anderson of High Point; and family in love, Ginger, Clayton and Trevor Leonard and Sarah Hanley.   In lieu of flowers please make donations to Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church, 619 South Main Street, Lexington, NC 27292.
