Grady Ayers age 79 of Winston-Salem passed away Thursday, November 3, 2022, at his home with family by his side.

A graveside service will be at 11:00 am, Monday, November 14, 2022, at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, 3250 High Point Road, Winston-Salem, NC, officiated by Pastor Robert Decker, with military honors. Family will receive family and friends after the service in the cemetery.

Grady was born December 8, 1942, in Surry County to Robey Wilson Ayers and Margaret Harvey Ayers. He retired as a Store Manager from Harris-Teeter, served in the US Naval Construction Battalion, known as the “SEABEES”, (USN MCB 7) and was a member of Triad Baptist Church and The Gideons International. Grady is preceded in death by his parents, son Grady Wilson Ayers Jr., daughter Christina Ayers Hodges, sister Brenda Sykes.

Surviving are his wife; Peatie Minton Ayers of the home, daughter Dawn Melton (Timothy), brother Gary and sister Lynne, one grandchild Casey, two step-grandchildren, Julius and Maris and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
