Grady Joe Berrier age 88 passed away Monday, December 14, 2015 at his home with his family by his side. A funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, December 17, 2015 at Canaan United Methodist Church where he was a member with Rev. Doug Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. His family will see friends after the service in the church fellowship hall and other times at the home on Midway School Road. Grady was born in Davidson County on February 07, 1927, to George and Minnie Berrier. He was retired from Western Electric/AT&T after 42 years of service. At Canaan he was a member of the choir for over 50 years, served on the administrative board and was a former Sunday school teacher. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Virginia Leonard Berrier who died November 10, 2010 and a son Gregory Dale Berrier. He is survived by two daughters, Dianne Beeson (Bryan) of Winston-Salem, Twila Whitney (Jeff) of Clemmons; grandchildren, Shannon Cooley, Angel Huneycutt (Josh), Joel Beeson (Olivia) Jessica Smith (Brooks), Amy Murchison (Cameron); great-grandchildren, Justin Edwards, Trish Cooley, Cameron Cooley, Luca Dean, Mason Johnston, Solomon Wilson, Braylon Murchison, Savannah Murchison, Ethan Rayfield; and former daughter-in-law, Debi Berrier Saleeby of Chapel Hill, NC. Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Forsyth County, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103 or Canaan United Methodist Church Choir Fund, 1760 Shady Grove Church Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27107. Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel is assisting the family.
