Grady Leon Brinkley

Grady Leon Brinkley 85, passed away Tuesday morning August 19, 2008 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. The service will be held at Bethesda United Methodist Church at 2:00 PM Thursday, August 21, 2008 with Rev. Doug Hochmuth and Rev. David Brinkley officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Brinkley was born in Davidson County, June 9, 1923 to David Daniel Brinkley and Maude Helpler Brinkley. He was a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church and was owner of Welcome Parts House. He served in the US Army during World War II. Mr. Brinkley is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Clyde Brinkley and Paul Brinkley and one sister, Naomi Ellerbe. He is survived by his wife Nellie Wall Brinkley of the home, one son Thomas Grady Brinkley and his wife Shirley of Welcome. One sister, Doris Beck of Lexington, four grandchildren, David Brinkley, Scott Brinkley, Janice Keene and Steven Brinkley and five great-grandchildren. Memorial may be made to Bethesda United Methodist Church, 2922 Bethesda Road, Lexington, NC 27295 and or Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103. Visitation will be held at Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel, Wednesday, August 20, 2008 from 6 to 8:00 PM. Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel is serving the family.
