Graham Myers

Joseph Graham Myers, 102, of West US Highway 64, died Saturday at Lexington Medical Center. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Tuesday, October 9 at Sheets Memorial Baptist Church, by the Rev. Frankie Matthews. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Monday at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home. Mr. Myers was born September 22, 1910 in Davidson County to James William Myers and Anna Snider Myers. He retired from Burlington Industries and was a member of Sheets Memorial Baptist Church, where he was a Deacon and taught Sunday School for more than 70 years. His wife of 71 years, Ruth Beck Myers, preceded him in death, as well as his sisters, Nona McMahan, Dorothy Myers, Zella Hege, Elsie Charles, and Lena Byerly; his brothers, Thurman Myers, Frank Myers, and W. Jack Myers; and his son in law, Robert Rachels. He is survived by his sons, J. Druid Myers and wife, Juanita; Harold G. Myers and wife, Betty Ruth, both of Lexington; and Stuart Myers and wife, Judy, of Rockingham; his daughter, Evelyn Rachels of Lexington; his sisters, Virginia Shoaf of Lexington, and Nannie Sue Blalock of Rocky Mount; his grandchildren, David Rachels and wife, Lisa; Mark Rachels and wife Tammi; Terry Myers and wife, Donna; Vicky Rickard and husband, Tony; Carla Meissner and husband Mark; Charles Myers and wife, Lisa, Monica Chmil and husband, Brian and Tedman Myers and wife, Leigh Ann; his step-grandchild, Teddy I. Worsham and wife Cheryl; his great grandchildren, Melissa Overby, Joey Rickard and wife, Angel, Jodie Hartsell and husband, Ray, Josh Myers and wife, Hannah, Tiffni Berrier and husband, Brandon, Mallory Meissner, Ashley Meissner, Kelsey Meissner, Chip Myers, Kevin Myers, Noah Chmil, Elliott Chmil, Caleb Myers, who shared his birthday, Jacob Myers, and Alexandra Myers; his step great grandchildren, Jamie Howell and husband, David, Candace Worsham, Brittany Worsham, and Nicole Worsham; and his great, great grandchild, Jerzie Braley, Joey Braley, Jaydyn Hartsell, Levi Berrier, Emli Berrier, Ruger Myers, Aiden Overby, Tyler Overby, and Syler Worsham.
