Gray Ellis

Warren Gray Ellis age 96 of Spring Drive, Lexington passed away Saturday afternoon March 6, 2021 at Alston Brook.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, March 10, 2021 in the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with Revs. Terry Coats and Sammy Allison officiating. Burial will follow at Lexington City Cemetery. Family will greet friends at the funeral home from 9:30 until 10:30 prior to service. All protocols for pandemic are in force, wear a mask, social distancing and no more than 50 people allowed in building.

Gray was born in Davidson County August 26, 1924 to Robert L. Ellis and Retha Crotts Ellis. He was retired from Hedricks Body Shop and a member of Spruce Street Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Blake, Richard, Basil and Bruce Ellis and a sister, Ava Nance.

Surviving are his loving wife of 67 years Doris Kennon Ellis of the home; sons, David Ellis (Pamela) and Phillip Ellis (Karen) all of Lexington; daughters, Shelia Trantham, Linda Smith and Angela Hanes (Brian) all of Lexington; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Rena Tysinger of N. Myrtle Beach, SC.
