Grimes Phillips

Grimes Byerly Phillips, 73, of Phillips Road passed away Wednesday night, Dec. 26, 2007, at his home. The service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel by the Rev. Carroll Lupton Jr. Burial will follow at Byerly Family Cemetery. Mr. Phillips was born March 29, 1934, in Davidson County to Emery Franklin Phillips and Noami Gobble Phillips. He was a retired farmer and a member of Good Hope United Methodist Church. He is also preceded in death by a son, Ellard Grimes Phillips, and a brother, George Franklin Phillips. He is survived at home by his wife, Rosetta Hatcher Phillips; one son, James "Frank" Franklin Phillips and his wife, Tammy; a daughter, Patricia Ann Thompson and her husband, Steve; one sister, Guessie Ann Hege; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, all of Lexington; and his beloved dog, Tyler, and cat, Tiger. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel and other times at the home. A special thanks to Davidson County Hospice.
