Guessie Phillips Hege

Guessie Phillips Hege, age 81 passed away Tuesday night at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, December 7, 2012 at Union Grove Baptist Church with Pastor Ken Harris, Rev. Dr. Harold Fletcher, Natham Kirkman and Michael Austin officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 PM on Thursday, December 6, 2012 at Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel and other times at the home of son Sam Hege. Guessie was born on February 6, 1931 in Davidson County to Emery Franklin and Naomi Gobble Phillips. She was a homemaker and a member of Union Grove Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Felix Lee Hege who died July 29, 2003; two brothers, Grimes & George Phillips. Surviving are three sons, Van Hege and wife Brenda, Sammy Hege and wife Missy all of Lexington, Glenn Hege and wife Maria of Thomasville; two daughters, Teressa Hege Wagner and husband Ricky of Salisbury, Melissa Hege Wagner and husband Randy of Rockwell; nine grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Union Grove Baptist Church Building Fund, 2295 Union Grove Road, Lexington, NC 27295. Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel is assisting the family.
