Guy Zimmerman Hanes

Guy Zimmerman Hanes, 95, of Oak Forest Hills Rehab in Winston Salem, died Monday March 26, 2018.   A graveside service will be held 1:00 pm Thursday March 29, 2018 at Good Hope United Methodist Church, where he was a member, with Rev. Stephen Robbins officiating services. A memorial service will follow at 2:00 pm in the church sanctuary.     Mr. Hanes was born May 30, 1922 in Davidson County to Marvin Hanes and Rose Mae Zimmerman Hanes.  Guy was a member of the Goldwing Riders Association, and a charter member of Chapter A.  Mr. Hanes was a United States Navy Veteran and served in WWII. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Newman Hanes; three sons, , Jeff Hanes, Keith Hanes and Ricky Hanes; three brothers, Belvin Hanes, John Haynes, and Calvin Hanes; and two sisters, Dale Foust and Nannie Hege.   Surviving is a son, Randy Hanes and with Dana of Winston Salem and a daughter, Regina Robbins and husband Rev. Tim Robbins.  Also surviving are his brother, Travis Hanes and his wife Evva of Clemmons.
