Guy Mack Shoaf, 79, of N. NC Highway 150, died Thursday, May 27, 2009, at Hospice of Davidson County, Hinkle Hospice House.
The funeral will be 2:00 pm Saturday at Friendship United Methodist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Bobby Swaim officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Shoaf was born July 18, 1929, in Davidson County, to Robert Hoyle Shoaf and Daisy Essick Shoaf. He was owner/operator of Shoaf Trucking. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Sylvia Shoaf; brothers, Early Shoaf and Bradley Shoaf; and sisters, Leona Sidden, Georgia Sidden, Wanda Woosley and Jeanette Shoaf.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Bailey Shoaf of the home; son, Brian Shoaf and wife, Connie; daughters, Deborah Case and husband, David, Rozella Everhart and husband, Mark, Cindy Briggs and husband, Wayne, and Angie McBride and husband, Scott, all of Lexington; 12 grandchildren, Jessica Scarlett, Robert Case, Monica Holder, Jonathan Lopp, Lindsay Lopp, Bradley Everhart, Trey Briggs, Taylor Briggs, Thomas Briggs, Callie Shoaf, Courtney Shoaf, and Levi McBride; three great-grandchildren, Matthew Scarlett, Megan Scarlett, and Ethan Bowles; and a brother, J.D. Shoaf of Lexington. And his four special friends, Bryce Weaver, David Caudle, Bennie Byerly, and Rick Freedle
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home.
