Mrs. Hansel Denton Johnson, 96, formerly of Colonial Drive, died Saturday, January 16, 2010 at Triad Care and Rehabilitation in High Point.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, January 19 from the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Steve Brooks officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park.
She was born January 2, 1914 in Sweetgum, Georgia to A. Lee Denton and Nancy Carrie Bell Denton. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her parents, the love of her life, L.L. Johnson, her son, Ralph E. Johnson, and her daughters, Brenda Joyce Johnson, and Mary Lou Johnson Harrelson, her brothers, Rass Denton, Randall Denton and Roland Denton, and her sisters, Hollis Watts, and Hazel Denton.
She is survived by her son, Robert Lee (R. L.) Johnson, and wife, Linda, of Lexington; her daughter, Carol Rogers, and husband, Tommy, of Lexington; her sister, Hassie Dilliard of Murphy, NC; nine grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at Davidson Funeral Home.
