Harold Gene Foster, 89, of Davidson County, passed away peacefully on Monday morning, June 23, 2025.
The funeral will take place on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at 11:00 AM, at Forest Hill Memorial Park’s Mausoleum Chapel.
Harold was born on September 29, 1935, in Rowan County, to the late Charlie Foster and Cora Head Foster. He honorably served his country for a number of years in the National Guard and later, worked as a machine operator at Stanley Furniture from which he retired.
Harold loved being outdoors and enjoyed spending time hunting, fishing, doing yardwork, and riding his red belly tractor. When he wasn’t outside, he was in his next favorite spot in the living room, watching westerns. There wasn’t a John Wayne movie or Gunsmoke story he didn’t know by heart.
However, what he loved more than all these things was his family. Anything he did, he usually did with his wife of 72 years, Angie, whether it was cooking together, raising their sons, or just enjoying one another’s company. Their love was a testament to time, and their family will always have their commitment to one another as an example to follow.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Left to carry on his legacy is his wife, Angie Walker Foster, of the home; two sons, Tony Foster (Nancy), of Lexington, and Dale Foster, of Lexington; brother, Clarence Foster, of Salisbury; six grandchildren, Brandi Morris, Whitney Parker (Michael), Heather Hinsley (Justin), Katie Foster (Meagan), Kerri Underhill (Tom), and TJ Cameron (Ashley); ten great-grandchildren, Angela Crites (Samuel), Madison Morris, Kaden Morris, Landon Braley, Bentley Flowers, Allison Underhill, Preston Underhill, Lil Anthony Cameron, Audrey Cameron, and Adalynn Camerson; and one great-great-grandchild, August Crites.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to Well Care Hospice, 146 Dornach Way, Advance, NC 27006.
