Harold Eugene Frye, a revered engineer and brilliant mind, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 24th, 2025, at the age of 87. Born on January 15th, 1938, in Kansas, Harold's life was marked by a profound love for knowledge, innovation, and family.

An esteemed alumnus with a Master's Degree, Harold dedicated his professional career to the field of engineering with IBM, where he left an indelible mark through his pioneering contributions. His passion for computers and programming was not just a vocation but a profound interest that saw him become a respected member of MENSA.

Harold is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Ann Frye, who stood by him through the graces and challenges of life's journey. He leaves behind two cherished daughters, Susan Pfannes and her husband John of Lexington, and Nancy Frye of Long Island. His legacy extends to five grandchildren, Trinity, Melinda, Andrew, Trevor, and Amber, and two nephews, Ron and Doug Fankhauser. He is also survived by his dear sister, Elinor Fankhauser of California. Harold was preceded in death by his mother, Mirian Frye, whom he lovingly remembered throughout his life.

A brilliant light has dimmed with Harold's passing, yet his spirit will continue to shine through the lives he touched and the innovations he inspired. While there will be no formal services at this time, family and friends are encouraged to honor his memory through donations to The Michael J. Fox Foundation, supporting research efforts that he believed in.
